Can I return a Game I bought at Gamestop, opened and played for 5 min to Wal-Mart for an exchage?

with or without receipt, open games, movies, and music can only be exchanged for THE EXACT SAME GAME. Sorry store policy. But you should be able to take it to game stop and exchange it for something else there.
